Acupuncture

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture works by restoring the natural flow of Qi — the life force at the heart of Chinese medicine and culture. When Qi flows freely, the body is in balance and better equipped to defend itself against illness. When it’s weakened or blocked, health suffers.

Running throughout the body is a network of meridians, each containing acupuncture points where Qi can be accessed and influenced. By stimulating these points — primarily with fine needles, though sometimes with massage, cupping or herbal medicine — acupuncture encourages the body to return to its natural state of health and function.

Acupuncture is as much about prevention as it is treatment. By identifying and addressing energy imbalances early, it can help stop problems from developing into disease. For existing conditions, it can relieve symptoms, reduce complications and recurrences, and support long-term management — in some cases reducing the need for medication or surgery.

Acupuncture is part of a greater system of Chinese Medicine. It is the practice of inserting extremely thin needles into the body at key points where energy, also known as qi flows.

By stimulating points, Acupuncture activates the electrical system in the body and signals the body to improve its function which in turn, relieves pains and stress. Many people who have an Acupuncture treatment report feeling relaxed while others say they feel energised.

How can Gal help you?

Gal practices both Chinese and Japanese styles of Acupuncture. With an expansive knowledge accumulated over two decades of study, Gal’s treatments may relieve your stress, reduce your pain and give you the relaxation you deserve. Because Acupuncture changes the energetics behind illness, it can be used to aid a vast variety of symptoms both chronic and acute.

Apart from being an Acupuncturist, Gal is also an Alexander Technique teacher. This method improves freedom of movement, balance and coordination. For those looking to enhance and improve the way they function with daily activity, or improve postural habits, Alexander Technique can aid you in a process of ‘unlearning’ unhealthy habits and consciously acquiring new physical, emotional and mental habits of daily activity.
